Family Collage Countertops

I am so excited to share a cool DIY project I did in my home! My kitchen countertops were begging me for an update. Begging me! I could hear them at night as I slept: "Gina, please help us!" They are basic wood tops which I like, but I just felt like I could do something really fun with them. So one day as I was framing a picture of me, Brian and the girls, a little lightbulb went off. I could turn my counters into one big family picture display, Homegirl style!

I collected a ton of my favorite photos, love notes from my three sweeties, kids drawings, basically anything that was flat and meant something to me. Then I called Al Montigney and the awesome guys at Portage Glass (located in my hometown of Hudson, OH). Armed with measurements, they cut the glass for me and then installed it and they totally rocked it!

It was a super easy project but it has become one of my favorite projects I've ever done in my house! And it's such a fun conversation piece when people come over. I love to cook and I love it even more now that I have all of these sweet memories and reminders of how lucky I am right in front of me.Yes, I may have burned a meal or two as I gazed into the sweet eyes of my babes in their younger years. But it's totally worth it - I am so happy with this sweet DIY project!
