Wake up?

"Let her sleep.  For when she wakes, she will move mountains."  I was on Etsy today working on an interior design project and I came across this quote to hang in a nursery. It brought the hugest smile to my face because I feel like it appropriately describes ME THIS WINTER!!!  I really did go into a hibernation mode  and very much felt like I needed a huge REST so that I would be able to AWAKE refreshed and better than before.

In contract to last winter, this winter my main goal was finding BALANCE, peace and calm between working and motherhood and joining the two instead of keeping them separate   I have been doing a ton of yoga and am doing a program through a studio here in Hudson (The Yoga Lounge) called "40 Days to Revolution" based on Baron Baptiste's book by the same name.  It has challenged me in so many positive ways and has made me realize that I really do need time to rest, renew and let go of things that are no longer serving me.

There are 2 basic constitutions that people possess.  Those with lots of energy that need to be in constant motion (you can guess what type I am, eh?) and those that are more calm and like to be sedentary.  Finding balance lies with embracing BOTH sides to ourselves and not letting ONE dominate.  So for me the hard part lied in sitting still, resting and stopping the constant of EVERYTHING.  For others, the difficulty lies in moving and action.  LET me tell you, it was a push to say the least.  For the most part I was on board but did find myself at some points rolling my eyes in the yoga studio in down dog when I just was not feeling very zen.  Hee! Hee!  I can laugh now because I know that just by practicing CALM and stillness (even if you don't want to) it is rubbing off on me.

The sun is shining as I write this email and the birds are singing in the morning and the days are staying light longer, so I am hopeful all of these signs are leading me to WAKE UP! :)

I HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE AN AWESOME DAY!
