My father always has said to me, "How do you eat an elephant?" "One bite at a time." I use this in my personal philosophy with everything except sometimes even I think it is easier said than done. BUT, I have recently been helping friends in some decorating projects they would like to tackle in their homes and it is even more apparent to me that THIS REALLY IS THE WAY, especially in decorating or re-decorating. Take one bite! It does not even have to be a huge bite, but start with ONE thing that you can easily do and it will give you the confidence to move on to bigger things you thought you could not even begin to tackle.
If you have a room that you cannot stand and you do nothing about it instead of something small, you will not proceed in the direction you desire. Start by just giving the room SOME attention and cleaning the room. REMOVE one thing in there that is just filling space and serves no purpose for you. THERE YOU GO - you did one thing. Once you have removed one thing, you will feel better about the beginning of moving out other things and once the space is completely cleared it will give you the ability to see its potential. OH and un-named dear friend, I hope you removed the fake tree! :) HAPPY ONE BITING!
